Gang World MS13 is a National Geographic documentary that focuses on the tale of MS13 also known as Mara Salvatrucha. This is the worlds largest and violent fast growing street gang in U.S. present in 33 states with over 100,000 members. The roots of MS13 are in Los Angeles but they have spread to Miami, Virgina, Madison and Houston. MS-13 came into existence in 1980s by Salvadoran Civil War refugees to protect themselves from rival ethnic gangs. They are all engaged in fights with rival gangs to expand their territory. As these are posing threat to the country police is trying to break MS-13 growing hold on the streets through strict law enforcement yet is unable to control. The movie includes 80 revealing interviews with gang members, founders, academics and other experts. It also features far-reaching footage inside jails. The movie depicts the real causes and circumstances due to which this gang is ever increasingly rising to power.
